Welcome to the Sekai Project website

We are a group of fans who are dedicating our free time to work on a fully animated bishoujo game called "School Days". We started the project back in April 2006. Unfortunately, due to staffing issues and pure laziness the project didn't actually take off until the early months of 2007. Even now we are still working towards a release.

Can I has update nao? - Kanna

Sorry for no updates in February. We all got busy with school and midterms, and AstCd2 told me I was spoiling you guys with progress. So let me start by saying we're as close to a release as we were two months ago... which is not very close at all.

We decided to do a episodic release schedule, mainly because then it won't take as long between releases, and hopefully we'll be able to iron out bugs and finalize features. So basically we're doing what everyone else is doing. What we're doing different is that we are planning to rewrite parts, if not all, of the subtitle engine. Overflow's done a good job at making the game not crash (most of the time), but their laziness makes for a complicated localization. This is where we're spending most of our time on now.

As far as translation goes, episode 1 has been edited and proofread since January, but I might have to rework the script now that we're working on the above.

I've added some additional system requirements in the Information section. We decided to release our own installer that takes care of installation from start to finish. Users will be able to insert the DVD, start our installer, and run through installation and patching all in one go. This one installer also takes care of updating the game when new episodes are released, so then there's no need to come back and download multiple versions of the installer. The patch will be downloaded to the user's computer using a network of mirrors along with the patch, if necessary.

That's pretty much it as far as updates go. The alpha 2 proposal has been approved and should be built soon(tm).
