Welcome to the Sekai Project website

We are a group of fans who are dedicating our free time to work on a fully animated bishoujo game called "School Days". We started the project back in April 2006. Unfortunately, due to staffing issues and pure laziness the project didn't actually take off until the early months of 2007. Even now we are still working towards a release.

Update? Well, not reeeally...

Episode 1 alpha was concluded a month or two ago, but that doesn't mean we're ready to release quite yet. There are still some design decisions that we need to finalize and test before bringing it out. I can say though we aren't being lazy for a whole year and doing nothing. We got a lot done this past year, like getting subtitles to display properly and figuring out how to tweak the game engine to do what we want (most of the time). I know everyone's anxious to play, but I promise it'll be worth the wait.

Now, onto more interesting stuff. A month ago I upgraded my bank account and got an offer for a free Asus EEE PC. It's the cheap 2G surf version but hey, it was free! Anyway, it arrived yesterday, and boy was it a small piece of kit; I never thought it would so light and tiny. It could probably replace my current laptop for those D&D sessions when I need a PHB in front of me (sorry, other geek life leaked out here). This morning I went about installing Windows XP on it, but not the version that are on a lot of your PCs right now. It's called Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs, takes about 800MB of space to install, and strips out some stuff.

I got curious after installing it, so I put our working copy of School Days on a 32GB USB stick and tried to run it. Here's what I got:
